Creating a Cozy Sleep Space For School Aged Kids
on Aug 15 2025

One day your baby is sleeping in their crib, the next they're heading off to school! No matter the age of your little one, getting a good night’s sleep will help set them up for success. Of course you know how it feels to function on a poor night sleep - while rough nights are inevitable, setting up a cozy sleep space can help your little one rest easy.

First things first, let's chat bedding. When your little one is still in a crib or toddler bed we hope they had the chance to enjoy our softest crib sheets (if you haven't checked them out, we have so many sweet designs for your little ones).
When your little one is ready to move to a "big kid" bed, we do have a few recommendations for sheets as ours only fit crib size mattresses. We recommend a bamboo crib sheet for its soft feel and sustainability - this sheet set is a great option! Another sheet option is this set of bamboo - hotel style sheets
Next, you need to take in account what technology is in your kiddos room. I know - technology is inevitably a big part of our life, but phones, televisions, iPads, handheld games, can all keep your little ones mind going and make sleep more difficult. To achieve a cozy sleep space, you may want to eliminate or limit technology and instead choose white noise to help calm your kiddo. Our kids love the Tonie box. It allows your kids to have autonomy by picking their own stories/music, and is easy to travel with. Follow this link for $15 off!
Lastly, just like when your kiddo was little, consider ensuring that the rest of your house is quiet, your child's room is dark, and that they have comfort items. A sound machine with white noise can help to eliminate outside noises from your home, I really love this one and the natural white sound it creates. For keeping your child's room dark, black-out curtains are a must, especially when your little one needs to go to bed before the sun goes down in the summer months. These black out curtains fit with most every theme and are a good quality. Lastly, for comfort items, this is really up to the age and preference of your kiddo. Some may like a teddy bear, or a baby blanket they've had for years, or squishmallows are popular!
Congratulations to your little one entering a new school year! We hope they have a wonderful year, and that they get a great night sleep in their cozy sleep space!
